The mildest of all skincare clays. Its origin comes from naturally moist soil in tropical environments. This ingredient is sometimes known as “white clay.” The mildness of the clay is why it’s utilized in babycare products. It’s the foundation of our Organic Calming Baby Powder. We use this clay and corn starch mainly instead of toxic talc, which shouldn’t be used in powders anymore.
Very simply put, this is Vitamin E as a skincare ingredient. Considered a potent antioxidant that is derived from edible vegetable oils. The kind of tocopherol we use hasn’t been genetically modified. That’s why it has the designation of “Non-GMO.” Vitamin E in general is a skin conditioner. You’ll find that it’s commonly put in lotions, balms, and cleansers for babycare to promote healthy skin.
From the aloe barbadensis plant. More commonly referred to as just “aloe vera” in ingredient listings. All aloe vera truly is, is the gum resin of the plant’s leaves. Grown without any pesticides. When used in babycare products, aloe is typically thought to hydrate. It also can act as an anti-inflammatory for skin irritations like diaper rash, and has antibacterial properties.
One of the most nourishing oils from the nut (kernel) of the argan tree. This is a tree whcih is indigenous to Morocco. High in rich and nourishing fatty acids, like oleic, linoleic, and palmitic acids. Argan oil is considered low on the comedogenic scale so it won’t clog pores in your baby. Plus, the absorption is fast to leave a non-greasy feel to the skin.
A talc-free white powder. This organic powder is extracted from the West Indian arrowroot plant. As one of the main ingredients that makes up part of the base profile of our Organic Calming Baby Powder. A very fine powder that is rich in the B-complex group of vitamins. This is also an edible ingredient when used as a thickener in many jarred baby foods.
An organic plant starch that is used in place of talc in many baby powders. In ours specifically you can find this as part of the ingredient profile in Organic Calming Baby Powder. Helps to promote dry skin and absorb wetness. Lightweight, but with larger particles than toxic talc, corn starch is made from corn and considered safer than talcum powders for baby.
This is simply another name for baking soda. As an ingredient which has long been used in babycare products for its skin protection abilities for centuries. This may also to control acidity and balance out formulations so they are tolerated by a baby’s skin. As a natural deodorizer, sodium bicarbonate is also routinely used in oral care products. You’ll also find it in cleaning products that deodorize and disinfect.
Below are the actual tests performed by an independent lab.

An inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP/MS) test which ensures that there aren't any of the 8 heavy metals not allowed by the FDA. These are the following metals categories, arsenic, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, lead, mercury, manganese, and nickel. High exposure to metals can lead to adverse reaction, which is why these are tested for extensively. The test itself uses a mass spectrometer to separate potential metal ions to determine their presence. None of Made Of organic babycare products contain any of the hazardous metals.
This quality test is based on determining if microbial contamination will be a problem in each product. Bacteria and fungi testing is performed, as well as, yeast, mold, and testing for the absence of pathogenic germs. Performed on new products. This test is also conducted again after an “in-use period” to find out if microbial growth is going to occur over time when a product is used in a practical way. A form of antimicrobial testing to determine if a baby-care products preservative system is going to hold up to prevent contamination. A passing mark of excellence in these tests require that each product have less than 200 cfu/g present for all bacteria, yeast, and mold counts.
In determining that a preservative system will hold up in baby skincare products in topically used items, a testing period of time is used. This is after a 14 day incubation period where each substance is placed into an incubator. The bacteria growth, if any, is charted and needs to have no increase from day 14-28. Yeast, and mold should not increase either. For all of these microbes, the preservatives must actually reduce the count through this time frame in order to pass safety standards for preservative effectiveness.
An ion chromatography test is used by an independent or third party lab to determine the levels of sulfates present. This is a detergent and surfactant found in many personal care products. None of our Made Of organic babycare products contain any presence of sulfates. This test places the sulfate ions at a zero percentage rate in all of our products. A comprehensive analysis that lets the consumer know products are less likely to cause irritation or skin sensitivity.
The 26 allergens test encompasses a mass spectrometry test, using gas chromatography (GC-MS). The goal is to determine the presence of 26 fragrance allergens in babycare products. These 26 fragrance allergens have been banned by the European Union as potentially hazardous for use. Any products sold in Europe must be free of these substances. All of our babycare products are tested rigorously by an independent lab to make sure they are free of all these allergens and to create a better overall product.
Gluten in the main protein in grains. Some people have sensitivity to this substance. An independent lab tests each and every product for the presence of gluten. Some of our Made Of organic babycare products are considered completely gluten-free. Look for the label ""GF"" on the packaging to be sure. Five standards are used by an independent lab to test this category. The Gluten Calibration Curve is used to make sure all gluten levels are below a measurable standard.
Due to increased awareness of all kinds of nut allergies in adults and children. A nut test is performed by an independent lab to test the presence of any nut allergens. The test is a highly sensitive detection system called the AgraQuant Peanut Assay. A homogenized sample is used of each and every product. Levels must be lower than a .1 ppm. There also has to be zero cross reactivity with any type of nut products and not just peanuts.
An AgraQuant Soy test is utilized by an independent lab. This will determine if the presence of soy is in any of our babycare products. As a highly sensitive detection system, this will certified that all of our products are without soy by products. Soy has the potential to be an allergen for some people with sensitive is to it. A homogenized sample is used for each and every product. Levels must be at a certain standard to be considered soy-free. There also has to be zero cross reactivity with other allergies related to soy.
